Where and how to vote?

Primary method: Voters in Slovakia have to vote in person at a specific polling station based on their home address. The municipality of voters’ permanent residence in Slovakia will notify them of the date and time of elections, the number of their polling district and the address of the polling station, together with the information about the voting procedure itself.

Alternative methods: If voters are not able to vote at the polling district at which they are registered, they can ask the municipal office for a polling card that will enable them to vote in any polling district within Slovakia. It is not possible to vote online, by mail or by proxy.

Polling day requirements: Voters are obliged to prove their identity upon arrival in the polling station by submitting a valid identity card or residence card of a citizen of the European Union. If a voting card has been issued to the voter, they will submit it together with an ID card or a residence card.
